A hearty welcome to Angus Gallie, the latest rider to join the club. Angus Says "I first started cycling in 1971! Eddy Merckx was my hero then (he probably still is!). In a ten or eleven year period, with a West of Scotland Club by the name of Lomond Roads CC, I sort of 'did it all'- racing, touring, committee positions. In 1982 I took up running after being swept up in the early marathon craze. I sort of stuck with running from then on, doing the odd bit of cycling when injured. My big cycling 'comeback' was the 2006 Etape du tour (Gap to Alpe D'Huez). I did the etape caledonia last year and I've entered it again this year with the intention of trying to mix running and cycling for the first time (we'll see how that works out!). So up goes the average age of the club once again!"
