YOUTH GRASS TRACK

(Incorporating The National Clarion Youth Championship)
West Lothian Clarion is promoting a grass track event for kids aged 6-15. The races will take place at the Highland Games Park in Bridge of Allan and will follow the normal format for grass track events, apart from one change — the bikeswill be geared only, no fixed wheel.
Mountain bikes, racing bikes or single speed with a freewheel can be ridden.

Provisional Programme
The programme will be a mixture of sports day and grass track meet - we are including some fun events but there will be some very competitive races too
1. 1 lap dash - A one lap time trial
2. Block Handicap
3. Team pursuit composite teams or club teams
4. Scratch race
5. Hair and hounds - Two riders set off half a lap in front and try to stay away
7. Hoop race
A bit like musical chairs but riders have to put their front wheel in a hoop (which is laying on the floor) when the whistle is blows. Hoops are taken away each lap until 3 riders fight for the final hoop
